Acosida
http://acosida.freeservers.com/index.html
AIDS activists from Tijuana, Baja California and neighboring San Diego, California who were already acquainted with one another, organized the "Alliance Against AIDS" of Tijuana in 1983. They realized the compelling need to address a serious, growing health problem in the region in the way of AIDS awareness and prevention outreach. More importantly, the providing of medical care for AIDS patients in Tijuana, which was non-existent during that era, had to be established. [broken link]

Aids Action, Washington D.C.
http://www.aidsaction.org/
AIDS Action is a national organization dedicated to the development, analysis, cultivation, and encouragement of sound policies and programs in response to the HIV epidemic. We do this through the dissemination of information and the building and use of advocacy on behalf of all those living with and affected by HIV. Our goal is simple. Until It’s Over—until no one acquires HIV, until those living with HIV have the care and services they need, and until a cure is found.
AIDS Action has been instrumental in the development and implementation of major public health policies to improve the quality of life for the estimated 850,000 - 900,000 Americans who are HIV positive. AIDS Action Council collaborates with the greater public health community to enhance HIV prevention programs and care and treatment services; and to secure comprehensive resources to address community needs until the epidemic is over.

AIDS Consortium
http://www.aidsconsortium.org.za/
In the early days of the epidemic in South Africa, there was little or no understanding of the human rights issues raised by HIV/AIDS. Discrimination was widespread, and rapidly becoming institutionalised.
In response to this situation, a Charter of Rights for people living with HIV/AIDS was drafted in 1992, forming the basis for the work of the AIDS Consortium.
Drafted by three lawyers (Edwin Cameron, Edward Swanson and Mahendra Chetty), the Charter drew on international documents such as the Montreal Manifesto of the Universal Rights and Needs of People Living with HIV Disease and the United Kingdom Declaration of the Rights of People with HIV and AIDS, but was adapted for the South African context.
The Charter was endorsed by a wide range of local and international organisations and individuals, including political and religious leaders, artists and community organisations (see attached). The Charter was publicly launched on World AIDS Day, 1 December 1992, and was subsequently translated into Afrikaans, Zulu, Tsonga, Venda, Xhosa and Sotho. Other countries including Botswana have drawn on the Charter in formulating similar documents.
