Who's Positive a national non-profit organization introduces you to a movement of young adults making a difference - OPERATION: Get Tested (OGT) : a mission to humanize HIV; preventing and reducing infection rates among youth as well as a nationwide effort to empower, encourage and provide opportunity for youth to be tested for HIV.

Operation Get Tested 2008

Thank you for your interest in Who’s Positive.  Our unique way of reaching today’s youth is becoming more popular in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  We are pleased that you are interested in our tour Operation Get Tested (OGT) and wanted to offer some insight for you.

OGT was a nationwide testing initiative geared towards youth that we launched in 2006.  We traveled the US with six HIV positive youth to help humanize HIV through first hand accounts of young adults living with HIV.  It was a HUGE initiative.  We have closely evaluated doing another tour in 2008 and have decided that our resources are limited this year but that we will consider potentially doing another tour in 2009.  Our resources are somewhat limited and although our first tour was very successful it limited our focus on the operations of such a mass project.

Wait!  This does not mean that one of our speakers could not be part of programming at your events.  All of the HIV positive youth are dedicated to making a difference by using their own stories and faces.  All of them are available to present their stories while using a hypothetical HIV testing card as described on our website.  We have found this method to be VERY successful.  Additionally our staff will work with your staff to help provide HIV testing directly after the program.  We find that a large number of those who attend the program go directly over to be tested.

For more information about programming, feel free to contact me directly or emailing info@whospositive.org.  If you haven’t heard already Who’s Positive is in the beginning stages of planning the first ever National HIV Youth Awareness Day, (NYHAD) which will take place in March or early April each year prior to most spring breaks.  For more information on this initiative or to learn how you or your school can get involved visit http://www.whospositive.org/news/news.php?newsid=98

Click on the map to see latest tour route. Current tour route is a work in progress we continue to encourage tour stop requests.

Our tours stops will be defined by late August and finalized by September 15, 2006. This will allow us plenty of time to map out our stops as well as plenty of time for schools to be involved.
