Smile!

Ok I don't remember if I ever explained why I needed to have all my teeth pulled or not at such a young age. It isn't because I didn't take care of my teeth I did very much so. It is because of three reasons really.
The first one being I had an inherited dental disease which was eating my teeth up from the inside out. Basically that means by the time we noticed the cavity and were trying to fix it my tooth was pretty much hollow. Even if I got them filled and did everything right with my dental care it wouldn't stop the decay.

The second was from when I got very very sick with the pneumonia the fact that I was vomiting (I hate to put it this way but don't know of another way to do it) a minimum of 4 times a day that I basically brushed the enamel off my teeth because I had to brush them after each time. In case you don't know too much brushing of your teeth is almost as bad as not brushing at all. So follow what the dentists say of how many times to do it.

The last is the HIV medications they put me on after I got so sick. I don't remember what they were at this time, but they ate my teeth up too.

So as my dentist put it was screwed any way I looked at it. So we pulled them and I got ready for dentures. So without further ado here is a pic of me with my dentures in (which I just received today) and that's my other half on my shoulder there he was so happy for me.

Are you kidding me!?

This is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. I was raised Catholic. I am completely disgusted with this policy and for the Pope to come out and say that "You can't resolve it [HIV] with the distribution of condoms,… "On the contrary, it increases the problem." is just as irresponsible as someone who decides to have unprotected sex. The Pope has the opportunity to take a lead in helping solve this epidemic but rather helping the situation he takes a Ronald Regan approach and ignores the epidemic.

I’d encourage you too , to be OUTRAGED! Write the Vatican, write your priests and protest this. I know the Catholic religion and its policy on contraceptives but come on this policy is KILLING PEOPLE.

That’s my rant 4 today, Soon I will be discussing the outrageous numbers coming out of DC. For now, I must calm down.

Day #365

So today makes 1 year since diagnosis. With 364 days before this you wouldn't think that day number 365 would be so difficult, yet here I am, having to remind myself just to breath. A few friends and I are going to do something tonight to "celebrate" the anniversary. Originally I was hoping for it to be a small affair, just the few people that have really helped me make it this far but now it's spiraled into this huge event, which I'm not sure is what I want at all.

"There is no future
There is no past
Thank God this moment's not the last

There's only us
There's only this
Forget regret-- or life is yours to miss.
No other road
No other way
No day but today"

Just been crazy busy.

I really have been meaning to come and post, but have been crazy busy like the title of this post says. We have had appointments for my other half for an on the job accident. He was hit in the head and is still having issues so he is now seeing a neurologist and trying to find out what's going on. I have an appointment for me today to see what's going on with me and my displaysia and how bad that is. We are also trying to get everything in order for school registration for our daughter next month. She starts Kindergarten this fall and I'm so not ready for that. So we need appointments for her to get her boosters for school. Too much to do and too little time. Oh and I am also just waiting my final appointment on my dentures. So here in the next week or so I'll have a brand new smile. I'll share a pic once I get them.
