Misstion Statement:  Who's Positive is committed to raising the awareness of HIV and its consequences. Our organization foregrounds the reality of living with HIV through the first-hand accounts of young adults coping with the disease. Who's Positive strives to remind the public that this is a virus with no cure. Through the stories of those living with HIV, Who's Positive hopes to reduce the transmission of HIV among teens and young adults - a population with one of the fastest growing infection rates.

Operation: Get Tested (OGT): a nationwide campaign to humanize HIV; prevent and reduce infection rates among youth; and empower, encourage, and provide opportunity for youth to be tested for HIV

Operation: Get Tested

  • October 15 (National Latino HIV Awareness Day) to December 1 (World AIDS Day)
  • Six HIV-positive youth between 19 and 26 of diverse backgrounds; five Who's Positive staff; and one embedded reporter
  • Twelve person sleeper tour bus
  • 35 stops; 70% college and 30% high schools (tentative)
  • Tour route: New York to Florida to Texas to Iowa to California (tentative)
  • Three day speaker summit September 8, 9 and 10 at the Pittsburgh Marriott
  • The tour will visit communities across the United States beginning in New York City (recognizing National Latino HIV Awareness Day) and ending in California on World AIDS Day. The six HIV-positive youth will raise awareness in their peers and encourage them to get tested.

What is Who's Positive? Founded in 2003, Who's Positive is a non-profit organization that has grown from a modest outreach program to a thriving organization committed to raising awareness by humanizing HIV and its consequences. Who's Positive foregrounds the reality of living with HIV through first-hand accounts of young adults coping with the disease. In telling the stories of people living with HIV, Who's Positive hopes to reduce the transmission of HIV among teens and young adults-a population with one of the fastest growing infection rates.
